Talking to teens about screen time can be a tricky subject, but here are some tips:

1. Acknowledge the benefits and drawbacks of screen time: Start the conversation by acknowledging that screens can be useful tools for learning, socializing and entertainment, but too much screen time can have negative effects on physical, mental and emotional health.

2. Set clear boundaries: Work together with your teen to set clear limits on screen time. Encourage them to take breaks, spend time outdoors and engage in physical activities.

3. Be a good role model: As a parent or caregiver, you should also be mindful of your own screen time habits. Show your teen that you value face-to-face interactions and other activities by limiting your own screen time.

4. Encourage alternative activities: Encourage your teen to engage in alternative activities like reading, playing sports, or pursuing hobbies that don’t involve screens.

5. Keep the dialogue open: Keep the conversation going by checking in with your teen regularly and asking them how they feel about their screen time use. This will help you to identify any challenges or concerns they may have, and work together to find solutions.
